The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Born in 1980 when a group of caring people helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 69 chapters in the United States and its territories. A network of more than 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants more than 13,000 wishes a year and has granted more than 160,000 wishes in the U.S. since its inception.
Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission. As the Foundation continues to mature, its mission will remain steadfast. Wish children of the past, present and future will have an opportunity to share the power of a wish®.
Through our affiliation with the National REO Brokers Association (NRBA), Regional Realty is proud to support the efforts of The Make-A-Wish Foundation by donating $100 for each REO listing assignment, as well as an additional $5 for each BPO order that we process during the month of July.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, is one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute.
Children from all 50 states and from around the world have come through the doors of St. Jude for treatment, and thousands more around the world have benefited from the research conducted at St. Jude - research that is shared freely with the global medical community.
St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance. No child is denied treatment because of a family's inability to pay.
Many of our agents have requested that a certain amount of each closing be donated to the hospital in their client's name. A thank you note is then written by the hospital to the client thanking them for the donation.
